February 7, 2007

Today the Federal Reserve released the consumer credit report
for December. The report showed that the credit card debt
increased at its slowest rate in nearly nine months. Revolving debt
(credit cards, line of credits) increased at a annual rate of .8%
compared to a 13.8% increase in November. The modest
increase in December was expected as many analysts believed
consumers would slow their borrowing to rate more aligned with
income growth.
